Why booking cheap flights to Bilbao is best done online

Cheap flights to Bilbao are best booked online. I’ve been using web-based airline ticket sellers for years and I’ve always been happy with their services.

How much does a flight to Bilbao Airport cost? I wish I could tell you.

Prices depend on…

  • your place of departure
  • the airline you’ve chosen
  • the time of the year
  • the moment you booked
  • your wishes on cabin service

And I’m sure I forgot a few more.

Obviously finding cheap flights to Bilbao is usually easier for people in Europe than for those living in the US, Singapore or Australia. But it’s still recommended to compare ticket prices before you buy. And that’s where the Internet rears its head around the corner.

Online you can easily compare prices, hours, stopover times and more. This way you can organize your journey in the way that suits you and your fellow-travellers best.

For example, I regularly travel from Bilbao to the south of Sweden, not far from the Danish capital Copenhagen. Unfortunately there is no direct flight from Bilbao Airport to Kastrup, Copenhagen. The last few times I flew with Lufthansa and had to change flight in Frankfurt.

I do not like the Frankfurt airport much - it is big, noisy and boring. But I chose this flight because I’d found out on the Internet the hours were good and little waiting time in Frankfurt – important when you fly with two kids!

Other years I flew SN Brussels Airlines with change in Brussels. I like the Brussels airport a lot more. Clean, nice and they have good meatballs with tomato sauce in the restaurant. After all it is the small things in life that counts!

But… which sites are selling cheap flights to Bilbao?

To be honest, all ticket-selling sites do. Although some websites claim to be cheaper than others you should take this with a grain of salt.

Booking fees and profit margins may vary a little here and there, but they all sell tickets from the same airlines - and in the end Iberia, Lufthansa, Delta Air Lines and the likes decide what you pay. Read more about Bilbao Airport and which airlines currently serve our city.

If you’re on a budget you could decide to fly with low cost carriers that offer cheap flights to Bilbao. They're a little different than the traditional airlines, although the price gap gets smaller. Low cost airlines sell tickets usually through their own site.
